wholefoodnut's Journal, 23 August 2015

Woke up to sunny and cool, highs only in the 70's, so odd for August. The predicted rain did not happen though heard thunder during the night.

Hoping the mower will start so I can finish the grass later as the sun dries it, the morning shade keeps it wet.

Managed to get 2 TRX workouts in yesterday one in the am concentrating on arms the second later mostly abs and legs. My neck muscles are sore this am from the 2nd one as it had many crunches. That is not a bad thing, I couldn't do any a few months ago as they hurt my neck while doing them. The TRX workouts have strengthened those muscles and reduces the rooster neck as well. The planks are getting easier and I'm able to hold them longer and do various exercises in that position. Some defiantly work the glutes!

Why are there ads for sweetened processed cereal popping up on this site?

Need to get busy on normal chores and some food prep for the week. I'm doing the normal lazy catch up on the computer over coffee weekend morning.

Excellent progress on the workouts, Jeri! I don't get cereal ads. If you want to see something different, have a look at some products on Amazon, or other online sales sites. I'm still seeing ads for bikes and bass guitars, lol, much better than cereal! And I hadn't realised how much sugar was in the supposedly non-sweetened cereals till I joined this site. It's scary! Shredded wheat are the only ones that don't have it.

Definitely lots of sugar in processed cereals. I love shredded wheat now and then, had some for breakfast with blueberries this am. There is also a puffed millet made by Arrowhead Mills that has no sugar. I'm trying to find some energy, this cool day has me wanting to just curl up an sleep or grab a blanket and a book. Was outside reading as I don't feel like doing anything. Some laundry is my only accomplishment so far. I need to start some soup and prep cook for my week. Soup fits this fall like weather.

Nice job with the TRX - and I can do side planks now, too! We did them this morning at my class.

WOOT WOOT!!! HCB those are dang hard. Mine are still really really shaky! The day has warmed with a nice breeze it's very pleasant out so taking breaks reading in the front yard. May take the crazy pup for a walk later, might actually walk some. LOL. A body in motion stays in motion, so moving. Started working on prep for the week. Have some fragrant curry powder made for the lentil soup, wakami roasted and ground, also some yummy sesame and seaweed seasoning for putting on many things: some beans in doing a quick soak for a cassoulet. Had to run up to the corner store for a few ingredients as I haven't been shopping, using what I have. Time to do the lentil soup and keep going through the frig to use what I have. I think some bean burgers using already cook red beans are in order, guess I should cook something to hold them together, I'm thinking the small butternut squash I found at the store would be perfect.

Enjoy a 'chores-at-your-own-pace' kind of Sunday!! Way to go on the TRX and planks . . . I'm telling you, the cheer outfit goal is VERY realistic and I'm looking forward to the pic! :D

Slowly slowly cooking I need to get more organized, like I used to be when we had the restaurant and would help out cooking for banquets. Oh well a nice day though I should be working on my yard. Not getting as much done as I would like but that's OK. Cooking should be relaxing and enjoyable if it isn't your job.
