Lovely view, even without the rays of the sun. It reminds me of something along these lines......... Beautiful stranger High high above the cloud 

Penny something changed and I may not be able to go home at all. It is soul crushing. Sometimes I don’t even know how I get up every morning. It is comforting though, to know that I get to see a glimpse of my homeland on your journal from time to time. Thank you for posting.  

@yfritz ~ that’s so hard. I feel sad for you. HK just increased the quarantine duration and it looks like it’ll be a while before I can go back there.

Yfritz, I’ll be back to US in two weeks for testing. If everything cleared by my doctor then I’ll coming back here at the end of the September I hope

Yritz, wow, what a coincidence! I mostly lived in Pokfulam, off Victoria Rd. Have you been back? Which HS did you go to?  

Penny, having been here so long, and going to an international school there, I feel uncertainty about my sense of 'belonging.' However, I was in HK age 3 - 17 and have lots of fond memories. My mom is there so if everything falls into place, I hope to travel there much more regularly. Hoping for the best possible outcomes with what's ahead for you.

Ian I didn’t attend high school in HK. I returned to Japan. The lantern festival is my favorite memory. I had a goldfish lantern! And daffodils during the New Year holiday… I treasured them🥲 

Yfritz, I haven’t thought about the lantern festivals in years, but you’ve reminded me those were some of the best times as a child, especially with all the cousins at our grandparents 😊
