Another day where am walking energized my day. Good day, even just finished mowing my front and back yards before more rain tomorrow. Tucked the tomatoes through their cages, deadheaded the roses, looking good.

My rashes are getting better, no more spreading, so back to the gym this weekend. Need some serious ab work to get rid of this stubborn muffin top, also helps my back and the old arthritis in my hip. Still doses of prednisone for the next week but decreasing amounts.

Weird lunch meeting where the non-meeting chit chat focused on losing weight as the monthly birthday cake was cut up and devoured. I mostly bit my tongue and didn't say much. They all know my opinion, find a method that works for you then stick to the plan... complaining that they are not losing weight because nothing works, as they try to do bits and pieces of several fad diets at the same time, drinking sugared soda and eating 2 big pieces of cake as they were talking. I skipped the cake, ate healthy, drank my water; I did have 5 small tortilla chips with the guacamole someone had made (not store bought, it was good). Mmmmm...maybe they will get it one day. Takes commitment and a plan.

Not really hungry tonight. Had a snack of toast and tomato juice when I came home, really all I want. For some reason a glass of tomato juice will stop me from munching on things after work. It's really the only juice I drink anymore, 41 calories per 8oz. My homemade bread is a complete protein, whole grains, 2 kinds of seeds, and garbanzo bean flour.

I was so craving bloody mary mix last night - guess I could have grabbed some tomato juice and added tabasco sauce. Now I want guacamole. Hmmm... at least I don't want cake.

I've been drinking tomato juice with chipotle Tabasco, a bit of celery seed, and splash of lime juice. Yummy!! Bought some to try a drink I saw in one of the old cookbooks I bought last week. It was 1/2 buttermilk 1/2 tomato juice. I love buttermilk in the summer on ice on a hot day, or a cucumber smoothie made with dill and buttermilk. The tomato drink sounded interesting. Tried it, like it but spiced it up a bit and have decided I prefer it 1/3 buttermilk 2/3 tomato juice. So I have been drinking my can of tomato juice, had forgotten how much it chases away the munchies..

When I was googling how to lower my cholesterol, I read that tomatoes and tomato products lower the bad LDL cholesterol or raise your good HDL cholesterol. :)

That's good! I think it's the lycopene in tomatoes, thanks had forgotten that. My hdl is 99 but my ldl is higher than I'd like 98. I do want to bring that down some. Still within normal But..... it just tasted really good, and very filling, I had not had any for a long time. A glass or two definitely fit into my plan.

Love tomatoes as well, 4 plants in my garden, hope I get a bunch this year. I like to dry them in my dehydrator and use them all year. When I used to can tons every year, I'd can cherry tomatoes whole in a pressure canner with some juice from lager ones added. They would be better than the so called fresh ones in the stores in the winter. If my new raised beds produce this year, may do some canning. Canner is sitting in the garage. Maybe one of those options would help you.

The canned cherry ones are great in salads!! The whole foods store brand petite diced are also really good used in salads. Since they are pressure cooked maybe they would work for you.
