Critical Employee - Meh!!!!🧐

Been commuting solo M-F now for 3 weeks because all others in my van pool are non critical at their jobs.

My company has provided free parking and feed me breakfast and lunch. More tired 😴 daily because I drive both ways. No one to share driving responsibilities with. Uugh. The commute has dropped down to 2 hrs 20 minutes daily vs. 4 hrs on average (( 😁))

Wife has been furloughed. Son and his girlfriend, who reside in my former man cave and payed rent, their income ceased.

This is not a rant, just a journal entry to refer to in the future when we get past this pandemic.

I devised a 32 day fasting schedule consisting of 24s, 48s and 72s that I believe I can stick to because I am able to eat with my family on the weekends and a weekday evening here and there. (Saying no 👎 to the food in the office except for the coffee and waters)

Bills are getting paid and I am able to feed 🍴🍲 my family.

Thanks adefwebserver. There is tremendous pressure on our team to keep all systems local and remote up and running. Tough times don't last, tough people do.

Sorry about the commute. Music or audio books for company, I imagine. I used to occasionally listen to “The Great Courses” CDs but they aren’t cheap enough for a steady habit even at 70% off sale prices. Good enough to repeat, though.

Thanks TomLong. I subscribe to Audible and on the 1st of each month, today coincidentally, I get to choose a new title to listen to. Any recommendations?

That’s great Chesgreen! I would be very hesitant to make a recommendation. But I would encourage you to try for variety. One of my favorite courses was “Elements of Jazz: From Cakewalks to Fusion”, and I am not a musician (just sing in church choir). Are all the choices fiction or do they cover a broad spectrum?

Thanks. I will keep that in mind. The choices cover a broad spectrum.
