Hump day already!!

I only saw 2 families yesterday but they were in different counties so that involved a fair amount of "road time." One was a new referral so those take more energy ... lots to explain, working hard at getting to know them, putting them at ease about having a stranger in their home!! It was a good day ... just tiring.

Today is weekly staff meeting (always such a joy!!), one family in the morning, and two after staff meeting I believe if I am remembering correctly. That makes for a very busy day so I thought I better pound out a quick journal entry while I drink my morning coffee and BEFORE I walk the dog. Funny thing is ... as I am typing this ... my dog is resting his head on my arm ... (MOM!!! Take me for my walk!!!!) ... or perhaps it is (MOM ... where are my MILKBONES????)!!!

Weight remains in the same range ... very good. I still get a little hint of anxiety now and again about how I am doing but overall I am feeling quite relaxed.

Grateful, of course, I am ... today for ...

1. finding a new TV series on Netflix I am enjoying (White Collar Crime)

2. perspective ... we ran into a neighbor while walking the dog last night and he was sharing this horrific story about the end of his friendship with another neighbor who has had serious mental health issues over the past few years ... there are ALWAYS stories that are "worse" and "better" than our own ...

3. Cool nights and warm days!!

4. My coffee ... I haven't mentioned that for a while and I still am so grateful for coffee!!!

5. All the little things ... and my ability to be present with people ... most of the time!!

Have a day full of practice today. Practice what? Well, kindness to yourselves of course!!! See if you can take a moment to just quiet your mind, focus on your breathing, let yourself "be" amidst the insanity of whatever is coming your way today. Remember each moment is simply a moment. It will pass. Some seem to go on and on and on and it is difficult to imagine they will shift at some point, but shift they do. Regardless of what you are facing today ... fun or stress ... being kind to yourself is a good thing!!! Take care buddies ... can't wait until I have more time to visit each one of you!!! So sorry I haven't been around much!!

Everyone I know is talking about dogs lately, and its really making me want one. Not so much for myself, but for my girls, and mostly Sophie. She is such an animal lover, and I know she would be extactic for a doggie... But we all work, and it would just be more money spent every week... maybe one day! Anyway, have a good one buddy!! Have you been using your elliptical lately??

Thanks for the journal entry and I know what you mean. This month is just too crazy. Besides practicing kindness to ourselves I think we all need to get out this weekend if only for a little while and stop and smell the roses before they are all covered in snow. Have a great day Carol.

I hear you on the thank goodness for coffee......ahhh love coffee. And CALORIE free? There IS a heaven!!! Ha ha. Hope you have a fabulous day!!! And thanks for the reminder of self kindness....always so nicely said!!!!

I really enjoy reading your journals. Where do you get your inspiration? How did you come to these realizations of being nice to yourself? How do you begin to be nice to yourself? So many questions, sorry.

Amen on the coffee. I have recently developed the habit of an evening cup, and am enjoying it as we "speak" :). Glad things are going well even if busy! The weekend is coming...

Hi Moose, I still can't get over the fact you were driving in a rainbow yesterday:) That is so miraculous to me. Lots of good things out there in our lives if we practice peace living with ease and kindness! TOWANDA!!!
