Carb Tracker for Gina's Journal, 26 April 2013

Well, what a AHA! moment. I absolutely know what is going on. Water. When I stopped to realize what I had to drink yesterday, at ALL, it was astounding. All total yesterday I consumed LESS than 16 ounces of water All day and 1 mug of coffee at 10pm. Looking back, Wednesday was no better. I did way better when I was recording water for the water challenge.... which, I had myself removed from because I couldn't post to challenge, thanks to FS...
I'm gonna do better today. Not with the food, that's not the problem. But with as much as I do outdoors in this weather the lack of water is simply not healthy...... I can't figure out why I'm not thirsty though.... well, no matter. TODAY is the only thing I can control, so TODAY I am going to get my 64 oz. TaDA!

Great idea. I should try to do the same and see if it helps. I tend to live like a camel... not drinking much water at all. If I am consuming fluids, it is coffee. This has been the case for as long as I can remember. My body has become accustomed to be perpetually dehydrated. I even worked in the Middle-Eastern desert during the summer one year and didn't have a thirst. (Which was very unhealthy - a nautious vertigo kicked in.) But I am just not thirsty, and not sure why. And I find it weird seeing people drink fluids throughout the day and have water bottles next to them at all times. Missing that "thirst urge" I don't understand why everyone is drinking so much. But they probably find me weird, not drinking anything. I am curious to test this theory... start forcing down water, and see if it will help my weight loss goals.

You know, every where you look, things say "drink water" but don't "force". I used to always be thirsty. I could empty a 24 can fridge pack of diet coke in less than 2 days. I cut them way back when I wasn't having in weight loss and tried increasing the water. Now, when I was drinking Diet Coke I couldn't go without a drink in my hand, now, drinking only water I can't remember to drink? Evidently I wasn't thirsty before either, it was just the sweetener tricking me into thinking I wanted something..... I guess... heck I don't know. But I am panicking a bit a the moment. I bought Stevia last night to make some jello. Before trying it I wanted to decide how much to use so I asked DH to make coffee. He put an entire packet into my mug of coffee. It tasted really sweet at first, then by the half mug it was beginning to taste bitter. That's all I had. Half mug. And this morning I'm barely hanging in ketosis????? AFTER my 4 miles!! It's really freaking me out. Now I'm scared to make my jello. Dang aspartame didn't do that to me. Might have slowed the weight loss down a bit but certainly didn't kick me out of ketosis and I did NOTHING else to cause it. I normally check ketosis first thing in the morning and last thing at night. I went from max to min overnight. Well, now I'm scared of the Stevia. I think I'll question it in forum, maybe someone will have some ideas!
