I do so well. I even kept calories in check over a holiday weekend that was super busy. In check meaning I didn’t eat the extra 1000 calories I was planning on lol. Then I have days like today that I’m not even gonna fight it. I’m hungry. I’m physically tired. I’m emotionally tired. New glasses making my eyes tired lol. Sitting about even but I know I’ll have my midnight snack. I shouldn’t but I will. Won’t be more than 200-300 kcal over which isn’t bad I guess once I’m maintaining/gaining muscle. What I want and what I should do are warring tonight. Gonna grab a jaw breaker while I consider my options 😁. So glad I’m not trying for a deficit right now! Days like this where I bust my butt, do lots of walking following kids around, errands, shopping etc I just seem to need more food. The more I do the hungrier I feel even though the calories have balanced out. Orrrr maybe my inner piggy (I say this lovingly as it’s a joke about growing in my house) has decided it wants to run free for a bit lol.

Agreed, feed the body for energy. Perhaps add additional healthy carbs for that extra energy just prior to needing it for chores, errands, or workouts. Otherwise load up on extra lean proteins throughout the day. Should prevent late cravings. Good luck.

I feel the same way paper. I was just hungry yesterday and so I ate a little more than I usually do and went up a little because of it. But I felt OK because my body was definitely saying hey I’m hungry as opposed to when I was just binge and eat out of boredom.

Lol it’s Jennifer. Jen works too as my friends call me by either. Aunts call me niecee , junk food Jenny or JJ. I answer to just about anything lol. Yes Chris I needed it! Mental health is important too lol. Made that snickers last a good half hour by taking tiny bites and savoring it. Passed on the yogurt and crackers I wanted after that. I think I’m doing well on calories overall with my activity level. The need for late night snacking hasn’t gone away. Even as a kid I wanted that snack but couldn’t snack. It seems ingrained in me. Sometimes it is mindless eating which I can usually get past by sucking on a jaw breaker. But after a few of those if I still feel the need to eat then I need something solid. I’d snack on veggies but I either cook them or the kids eat them all between shopping trips. Dang kids lol joking.
