This is good. I have always wondered about that Keto diet and yesterday Jillian gave her piece about it. I wonder how many agree with her.

Keto isn’t for everyone but it works for me. My drs put me on a very low carb diet before to control my weight. It was keto before it was called keto.

@Rosio19 what evidence do you have for any of your assertions? I think all of your statements to this thread are false.

Keto can be unhealthy for you if you have kidney problems as it requires you eat consume a medium amount of protein. Vegetarians and vegans may have a hard time getting their macro ratios right. People with acid reflux may not enjoy the side effects of a high fat diet. For everyone else who don’t have an underlying medical/ dietary restrictions keto can be a useful aid in losing weight. It’s great for some people because they actually feel full on the diet even though they are at a calorie deficit. There isn’t enough long term evidence to show the effects of long term low carb dieting. So keto at your own risk. :)

Yep! My Dr says Hey that weight looks good and cholesteol looks great to on that KETO way of eating. But, she says "Is it sustainable for you?" You can eat this way but if you continually cheat and find yourself eating bad carbs AND the high fats of KETO, well, bad thing.

I was specifically referring to Rosario19's 4 comments, which I've copied below. I also believe that working with your Dr. and even a nutritionist is a good thing.

keto has taught me to look at carb count. I thought eating all types of vegetables was a good, healthy regiment for me. After gaining 35 pounds, my doctor explained to me that not all vegetables are good for me. Same with fruits. Now on a restricted carb diet I feel better, mood is better and I have lost my belly fat. 20 carbs a day doesn't sound like much, but there are days when I don't even get to 20. Keto principals have helped me understand that I need to understand what I feed my body.

Just to be fair, a severe calorie deficit can lead to the same results

I'm not a fan of keto, I couldn't do it. But you can't argue with the results alot of people achieve.
I'll stick to my TRV diet 👌
