36.7%. Okay, that sounds and looks really high when I type it : (....But the point is, when I first got the measurement from the new scale I bought, my body fat was in the low 40% range. Like 42 or 43%. I'll take that 6 or 7% bf drop, especially since the scale hasn't been my friend as far as weight is concerned. I'll record a weigh in on Thurs. morning (before the long Girls' Weekend in Sedona!

Oooh sounds like a fun weekend!! Don't forget, percentages may seem like small changes, but they represent bigger things!! I haven't even yet programmed myself into my scale like that to look at my body fat percentages or anything, maybe I will do that today! Good job! Sometimes I think it's easier to lose weight than replace fat with muscle - which is the healthier thing to do!! So yeah, weight itself might not come off, but if your body fat is dropping you know you're doing something right!!

You're like my favorite cheerleader : ) Thanks SQ. I know when I got my scale, I didn't even want to know, which is why that initial body fat number isn't actually recorded anywhere. I had the scale a good three weeks before I got on it, and then didn't program it for height/age/etc for another week or two, then about had a damn heart attack when I did. If I do the military one for body fat, it's not quite as bad as this one, and the simple (and completely inaccurate and worthless) BMI is a nice, low number. For me. But it's not representative of anything! How are you doing, girl? Any more hauling in fish or any number of the things you do with those monsters for fun? The weekend will be fun. Damn the diet. At least as far as alcohol is concerned : ). I'm taking some of my food staples with me since the resort my friend got supposedly has a full kitchen. At least I know I'll eat a healthy breakfast, and I'll take nuts and protein bars and extra yogurt and fruit for snacks. They really like to go out to eat, though, so lunch and dinner may be more difficult. I'm taking those books with me, but something tells me Sedona doesn't exactly have a lot of chain restaurants. And they don't like hiking, so unless I drop them off at a casino (and I might just do that!), no hiking for me. Such a shame! It's so beautiful there.

Haha, I had to come back to respond to your journal since I wish they had like a "chat" system or something!! But - as far as your weekend, even walking around wineries and shopping will burn calories - just tell your girlfriends you want to carry all the bags, haha! It'll be like walking with weights! It's too bad they don't like hiking as much as you do, but maybe you can persuade them into a short walk around the area or something (not necessarily out in the wilderness). It's also so smart of you to plan on taking snacks and foods you know that you can eat without worrying! I did that when I went up to visit my friend in Indiana, and I think it really helped - especially cause he's a bottomless pit and can eat like 5000 calories a day without any effect (What a jerk! hahaha, lol I'm jealous!). I know you have that book (since you inspired me to get it), and maybe that section with the menu information could be helpful on your trip - and it may be a good way to see if it's actually "true", if you think the foods they recommend are actually healthy. Some of those nice places are really health concious anyway so they might even be able to provide you nutritional information if you asked. I hope you have a GREAT weekend!! I'm sure I'll talk to you before then, but have an awesome time!!
