Honestly's Journal, 11 June 2012

Here is what I am telling myself; It's going to be harder. It should be harder. It is more effective if it is harder. This is too long for a plateau. I believe that my old routine of exercise needs to be stepped up. I am not buring the same calories I did 100lbs ago. It has to be harder now to get any results. I am not afraid of hard. I am slow to finually get what's happening but I am on board for tougher work-outs. I want results again!!! It has been too long. My discouragment has led to bad choices and a bad attitude. I am turning that around. I am finually having success with water. Drinking lots and lots of water. That is the ONE easy thing I can do. I love my bike rides too. Great to have an exercise that you enjoy. I now have an odomiter for my bike. I can see how fast, how far and how long I am peddeling. I love it. Now I can add swimming to my routine too. It certainly is hot enough for it. I am hopeful I can get two work-outs in a day. For at least three days a week. My mornings still at the gym and biking or conditioning in the evenings at home. fingers crossed. Prayers welcome. Forward Motion!

there is a common misconception that the more exhausting an exercise is the more effective it is. You could run around in circles until you puked, but that doesn't mean it's going to do you any good

I went to 2 work outs a day last time I got stuck. I have been sticking to it for 5 months now and I think it has helped. I do 20-30 minutes in the am before work and then 45-60 minutes when I get home from work. Not sure what my long term plan will be, but I'll cross that bridge when I reach my goal. Keep at it, it will work!

bumbeen please explain. I don't understand what you mean. I am open to different suggestions and ideas.

Bumbeen is correct from my understanding. I have read you should stay within a certain heart rate percentage. I cant remember myself what it is and I too need to look into it. I overdo. I stay within 80-90% range and I am told thats not good and in the end wont help me lose weight. Its hard to go slower. Im old school. If I am not sweating profusly I dont feel I did good. Also intervals and HIITs help overcome plateaus. I havent gotten there yet to try out those theories lol. Curious Ncnole have you lost weight with the two workouts?
