Will power: It’s like a muscle. Ever since I started my fitness goals in late February, I’ve noticed that my will power has steadily increased over time. When I started tracking my exercise and food consumption, I had to focus on abiding by the goals that I set for myself on a daily basis e.g. track each meal, and exercise. I had to wrestle with my “Other Self” that wanted to keep things like they’ve always been. There’s always comfort in following a well-worn rut in a daily routine. It’s predictable. It’s warm and cozy. In the past it always managed to talk me back into the fold that led me to where I DON’T want to be. Over time, accomplishing the small daily goals built up my will power. The internal arguments disappeared. My routine evolved. My will power became stronger. My will power started to assert itself over the types of food I chose to eat, and the difficulty of my daily fitness routine. My body has grown stronger.

Other than reading advice tips from this forum, I’ve been traveling this journey alone. Nothing can lead you to your fitness goals other than your will power. Work on it. Exercise it. Over time, it will build strong muscles and carry you to your goal. It has been a long, long, time since I’ve felt so intimate with Me, Myself, and I.

It's my recommendation to you. Establish simple, managable goals, and build them up over time. TRACK your progress! Over time your mental muscle will get stronger, and your body will benefit!
