Bandraid's Journal, 04 March 2018

I have done a bit of reading and checking on calorie intakes. Although I try to keep around the 1100 calorie mark, this does flex up on cheat days. In checking some journals I found one calorie intake calculator putting my RDI at 1400 cals to loose 1lbs per week and around 980 cal to loose 2lbs per week. This is completely different to FS which has me at 1500 if sedentary and 1700 on low activity. Hmm no wonder this process is not straight forward. I felt if I ate 1700 calories I would put on weight not loose it. I try for around 1100 mark to make sure I don't miscalculate on portions and to leave a little room for error. I expect there could be an extra 100/200 calories at times which should leave me in the right neighbourhood over all. At this level, I rarely feel hunger as I am filling up on whole food as much as possible, and with cutting out carbs and nil tolerance on sugar I don't get any spikes although there are some days when the energy levels are a bit lower. After six weeks I have lost about 13lbs. I had aimed to be at 130lbs by end of March but that is now looking very unlikely. I am not sure what to change regarding the calorie situation, but it would be good to hear your thoughts and experiences?

Daily calorie intake seems incredibly low and in my opinion unsustainable long term. Wouldn’t you be better setting them higher, losing the wait over a longer period of time, losing the cheat days but factoring in some sort of treat more often?

I think losing 13lb in 6 weeks is fantastic? Am I missing something as you're doing really well. I stalled losing and increased intact by 300-400 cals a day and started losing again. Eating lots but all healthy, not including my treats of twiglets and vodka!

Why not try 3 meals a day to keep your metabolism up? I force feed myself porridge with blueberries every morning, never used to eat breakfast.

Thanks hubcity, maybe I am not under calculating then . Perhaps I should go up a bit on the calories. Its just with trying to eat more protein I actually don't get hungry at all really. I have leaned more towards vegetarianism so the change makes me feel constantly full. I'm not a true meat fan at all. Thanks KayFrench I guess it isn't too bad but I have been circling up and down between 145 and 151 for over three weeks, and it gets a little depressing when the drop does not materialise. I checked in with one of the BMI/Medical Health calculators and it includes measurements etc . It has me at normal or 19% fat it also has me in the normal weight range (I guess if you're a body builder for me that seems a bit out of whack). Urrggh. I guess if I relax a bit, maybe add in a bit more calories, hopefully it will kick start again!!

Thanks KayFrench too. I guess it is tough for me to eat in the morning, I'm used to just coffee. Like you it would be a wilful forcing to do so. I am struggling with all the extra protein to actually eat 1400 its tough, when I literally do not feel hunger. I always just eat when hungry.
