I kind of hope I am getting somewhere at last. I am trying to keep within my RDI for cheat days and make allowances for if there's to be a treat or a couple of glasses of wine at the weekend (by either keeping calories much lower in advance or compensation by training or exercise).

Having said that after being pretty consistent and good with healthy food, restricted portions and exercise there hasn't been a great deal of results. It can be hard to keep on when there's a lot of effort.

So, during the week I read a bit of research (eating to loose weight). It seemed, maybe my restriction might be too rigid. So I did the unthinkable and combined a cheat day with a rest-day (only gentle exercise). I also ate my full RDI first time maybe in a month. Actually it felt quite uncomfortable eating that much - but it seemed to help with a good nudge down on this morning's weigh in.

It seems so counterintuitive. Last time I had some weight around 5 yrs ago I just made some small adjustments and the weight barrelled off. It's such a shock for it to now require so much work and dedication. But you all are really helping me stick with the path, with all your great stories of small triumphs and wins, they cheer me up and help me remember those things matter so much, despite seeming minor. All those who are coming off medicines, no longer requiring surgeries able to lift and run with their children .. those mean so much. Keep strong all of you, we win from sharing our little triumphs :)
