No weigh-in today as I was woken up by my daughter showing me how her pox spots have multiplied during the night. I got up to dab calamine lotion all over her, poor thing. The timing is pretty bad to say the least, she has a major exam on 9th June and all her lessons are geared towards revision and exam prep in these last 2 weeks. She'll have to have a week off, not because she feels particularly ill, but because it's so contagious and she can't risk infecting any of her friends. For the same reason, she won't be going to the primary school graduation ceremony tomorrow evening, which she's really disappointed about.

Anyway, with that start, I'm thinking of reverting to weekly weigh-ins now I've achieved my target weight, so if I can resist the scales, I won't weigh in now until next Saturday. I will still be calorie counting though, as I don't think I have enough experience not to.

Yesterday was a weird day for me - I went out to buy a pack of filter coffee and a couple of other bits but it was a lovely day so I walked up to the new mall to check out the supermarket there instead of going to my usual supermarket. Of course, I couldn't resist a look around the stores and came away with a new suit, 3 swimming costumes and two pairs of shoes! All things I needed and some of them at bargain prices but I NEVER spree and splurge like that! I think it started with the suit - I took a size smaller than I would have previously bought and the pants were too big, so I ended up with two sizes smaller. Then, while I was trying on, at about 1.45, there was a store announcement to say there was 30% off all purchases made before 2 o'clock! Bargain! Then went to buy seamless underwear - just one to try, I thought, but they were 3 for the pricce of two so of course I bought three. My eye was taken by the swimming costumes - 25% off if you buy 3 pieces of swimwear so I got three great quality swimsuits for the price of one 'big brand' costume.

My old dad, long gone from us, would have said "you're not saving money, you're spending it". True, but then again, as my husband says, we can't take it with us and we're not coming back!

Together with the compliments I received from shop assistants ('Your Turkish is wonderful!' 'Can you tell me what hair colour you use, it's gorgeous' 'You look great in those pants') I came home on a cloud!

I do SO love days like that! Good for you! And what fun to fit the smaller sizes! Woohoo! I love language; as a young girl I actually had the goal of learning "every language in the world!"....kids...lol. Now, my Spanish is barely passable (enough to get me in trouble, but not enough to get me out). And I can't imagine learning any language that isn't based on Latin...so, I'm amazed at you ;) Poor daughter. That's a tough break for her...one she'll never forget, that's for sure!
