OKAY! So, this morning I am ready for another day! I got up early and watched the recent episode of The Biggest Loser that I recorded a couple nights ago. Yes, I cried through most of it. My daughter kept looking at me, with a very curious look in her eyes. lol I had to let her know that they were tears of support and happiness. I don't know why I cry at stuff like that but I just can't help it. My daughter is 17 months old. I have a feeling she's gonna be a lot like her momma, and that's okay! Compassion is a great quality!
ANYWAY! I also listened to Dr. Phil CD some more yesterday. We are now going over his "plan" for eating. I have to tell you, I was so pleased at how simple! I thought "You know? I CAN do this!".
His plan... Every day a person should eat the following:
3 servings protein.
2 servings low fat dairy
2-3 servings starches
2 servings fruit
4 servings veggies.
How to accomplish this? Divide your plate into for sections. Fill 1 section with protein, 1 section with a starch (but for better weight loss, can skimp on how often you eat a starch), 1 section with fruit and 1 section with veggies. In the evenings, leave out the fruit and have 2 sections of veggies.
Of course he has a list of all the foods that are considered "high yield, high response cost", which basically is your raw, whole foods. Much like south beach diet.
When I think of how easy it is to divide a plate into 4 sections, and how to fill up your plate with these food groups, it seems so much simpler and achievable! He also says portion control (moderate) is a biggy!
So, today plan on listening to some more! I'm really excited about changing my life around! I am feeling encouraged and am surrounding myself with "you can do it" messages!
Yay for a new day!
Oh! I almost forgot! I also noticed that on The Biggest Loser, all the participants have their own water bottles to drink from throughout the day. I remember one of the trainers saying that water increases our metabolism. I did not know this before. So, this morning I dug out my Starbucks 32oz. water jug and have it sitting here for me today! Gonna work really hard at drinking 2 of these a day!

You never cease to amaze me on your quest to find more information that is helpful and makes sense... GREAT JOB! You CAN DO IT! It's funny how just changing how we look at things can help make it click with us, huh? lol I don't even know what it was that has made it click with me to "stop eating, when you're not hungry anymore", but this is so key for me. I don't have to clean my plate. I can be "full" on so much less then my eyes used to see as needed. A shrinking stomach is helping, but the eyes are key, too. "Seeing" things in a different light, like sectioning your plate is great! RIDE GIRLY, RIDE!!! LOL *hugs*

You have all the tools, just use them, you CAN do this! Remember that glycemic index, I'm telling you, its what helped me so much. In fact, I'm going to dig it out again to try to keep up with Lotus! Have a great day and you KNOW you can do this!

You can do it - lots of support here and it sounds like you have done some more research that will help you in your quest for a healthier lifestyle - like the Nike commercial - just do it! :)
