Truly Hungry! I've been doing very well, making better food choices and exercising. However, since Sunday I have been insanely hungry. It is taking all my willpower not to devour everything in site. I've had so much water trying to alleviate it that I'm floating. I'm not stressed. This is not emotional or head hunger. My stomach is growling. This is the main reason I considered bariatric surgery. How do we push through this phase when the body is screaming, "You're starving me to death!!"?

Hi- You're doing well, that's great. One of the reasons I can't do plain calorie count diet is the starches and any sugars make me hungry. I eat a flax seed muffin for breakfast to cover my cravings for bread, the recipe is a muffin in a minute, I know it doesn't sound good but it really is, and not a starch. The premise of the diet is to change what you eat, I came to grips long ago with the fact that I was a person who just could eat some things, I might as well stuff it in my jeans or just duct tape it to my hips. But I don't like to be hungry and you don't have to. You don't have to feel guilty eating when hungry, I find that just mean and ludicrous. I'm doing Atkins new diet,modified a little because I am keeping track of the calories, and because I like my veggies and a varitety of foods. My daughter is doing it too, but since she's much younger she is losing weight just eating foods allowed and not counting calories, she's lost 30 lbs since November, and that was with going off occasionally for holidays and a trip to China. You are welcome to have a look at my journal, I eat enough to keep from being hungry, but its not how much, it's what I eat. I just started on May 1st and I am down 5 pounds, I haven't gone hungry since day 1. I hope this might help you, Good luck to you.
