Well, emotional eating got the better of me late last night and I succumb to the call of chocolate. However, I am happy to report that it did not lead to an all out feeding frenzy.
It will take a few days for my body to detox from the excessive carbs/sugar, so I'm looking forward to being in ketosis again. I need to have a plan in place for those rare extremely emotional moments, especially if it is due to an intense conversation w/my daughter.

I've run out of purified water and I hate the taste of tap water, so my water intake has gone down. I am happy to report that this is day 4 of no soda. (I still have my daily dose of caffeine though. I don't think I can ever go completely caffeine free, but I have decreased it significantly). I'm in the 'end of the month budget blues', so can't really purchase any more purified water at the moment. I need a plan for that too.

Also, my protein choices are getting low. We've used up the last of the eggs and tuna. Can't wait until we get paid on April 3 to stock up on things. We'll just have to be creative w/what we have until then. I know I do not have enough salad/fresh produce to last, but we do have some frozen veggies.

We are ushering for a play tonight. My daughter and I LOVE theatre. I'm really looking forward to it. :)

*Gall bladder is still acting up. I pulled out DANDR last night and read up on it. The book said that it is not a side effect from Atkins UNLESS one has a history of gall bladder disease. I do. Mine is only functioning at 4%. Interesting how the book explains that the gall bladder actually NEEDS fats in order to contract properly. Everything I learned about gall bladder attacks from my own experience and in nursing school is that fat is what causes it. I am still in the process of re-training my brain in regards to fat vs. low fat. The low fat teachings are so incredibly backwards and I hate how it is promoted as the healthiest. I truly believe starchy carbs to be the culprit of all health issues related to diet. Health professionals need to promote that instead.

Have you tried making chocolate with cocoa and stevia? There's a couple recipes out there that are SCRUMPTIOUS and actually made with stuff that's good for you. I'm on HCG, not atkins, but I'm sure you could have that. For the water thing I use a Britta bottle. I take it everywhere I go and I get good, purified water for free. I've got those end of the month and COMPLETELY broke blues, too. I really didn't do the food budget very well this month. Have you tried HCG? It might be easier on you gall bladder. I just had blood work done and my numbers are really amazingly healthy. I've always had terribly high triglycerides and now they're 76! My cholestrol is still 226, but that's without taking my chlorest meds. Anyways, I'm so glad you get to do cool things like the theater with your daughter. Way COOL! Have fun and don't beat yourself up, we've done enough of that already!

Thanksm, Mary. Your words of encouragement and understanding mean a lot to me. Regarding the chocolate, I usually make home made chocolate bark w/coconut oil, cocoa powder and splenda. But I didn't feel like going to all that trouble. My emotions just got the better of me and I remembered I had purchased some Hershey's kisses after the holidays and I just grabbed that. My plan is to give the rest away and not allow that type of food in the house anymore. Out of sight out of mind, right? ;) As for HCG, w/my limited income, it is not in the budget. My gall bladder just needs to come out. I've delayed surgery for years, it's a chronic thing and I just think it is time. I can't wait to get my blood work done again. I have high triglycerides too, so I am hoping that they will have lowered. I don't want to take medication. I am still working on lowering my blood sugars. It takes time to work it all of my system and control w/diet alone. I really do not want to be on insulin again. So w/the Britta bottle, does it filter the water so it tastes purified? I really like the taste of purified or even distilled water. I'll drink a ton of it, if it is available. For now, I'll have to squeeze a little lemon or lime into my tap water to make it palatable. Yea, my daughter and I do everything together. I home school too, so we are together all the time. She's my life and it makes me proud that at 16 she still wants to do things w/me. :)
