I had a terrific run yesterday. Consistency is the key. The shin splints are going away and I'm able to complete my run circuit without walking. I'm actually getting faster towards the end of my circuit (negative split). I was lazy over the weekend and only walked on Saturday, and did nothing on Sunday. As far as sticking to my caloric intake, I'm ok. I'm pretty good at consuming less than 2000 kcals per day. However, if you were to look at some of the items I've been eating, you will notice that my choices aren't always very healthy. My biggest challenge is in the evening. I have a large extended family that prides itself on eating. Dinner time is the key social event of the day. I have to tip toe around some dishes without offending the mother and father in-law. It can be challenging at times. I've take on the strategy of talking more, and eating slower.
