Got back lab results. After 3 months of a calorie controlled ADA compliant diet regime this winter / spring, I was AIC 6.2 - again. At that time, the Dr said if I had another score that high, they would expect her to put me on some kind of meds. So please do whatever it was I was doing before that was keeping down the levels/ help me to lose the weight that I had regained eating like a normal person.

She knew I had been doing low carb/Keto/Atkins type eating before, and all the weight I had lost. She had been astonished and delighted when the first few rounds of blood work came back from that when I first started it, at how that had transformed my blood fat levels from very scary to very good ratios, except for the higher than normal fluffy fat levels, which she said she had researched and found to be common/normal in someone who is primarily burning fat for energy.

As a medical practioner, seeing that plunge in triglycerides and little, dense sticky fat particles was 'exhilarating", a motivating quote I like to remember, and something I should have kept more in mind, instead of allowing myself to drift back into "normal" eating.

Because on the mainstream, corporate designed, ADA how to be healthy diet - I was right back to the same old problems. Weight and all the bad markers came right back.

But here we are 3 months after the replacement of the failed, corporate American Diabetic Association "healthy plan" later, with a return to Atkins/Keto/Low Carb spectrum, with an A1C of 5.2. She could not retest the other scores except on a cash pay basis, which we cannot afford at this time, but I am confident that they've returned to where they should be too.

So whether I am a diabetic merely postponing the inevitable need to start meds, or can prevent that eventuality by continuing to exercise and eating Keto/Atkins/Low Carb does not really matter at this point. I like eating like this. I feel great being more active. I wish I could get my husband on board, but even so, it works for me.
