Gastro Patient's Journal, 01 August 2017

I spent the last two weeks in Phila. on a research project. Rode the Septa public transit system daily, which involved a great deal of walking, thinking about schedule, planning my routes and timings, etc. Although stressful at first, the train ride was more relaxing than I thought it would be and I found that I could get around pretty well by the second week. I rode in a car very little. The walking was calming for digestion and forced me to stand up so that after hours of microfilm work, my innards could straighten out and kick into function mode. I've lost at least 3 lbs during this time, but am not sure that I should continue to lose weight.

I noticed that although there are plenty of overweight Philadelphians, generally the people I saw on the streets were more fit than those I see in the Midwest. Credit this to running for a train?
