OK, so I really did nothing with this last summer (as is evidenced by the lack of entries and lack of weight loss). A dear friend got tired of me "calling it like it is" and admitting myself as fat, so she had a "come to Jesus" conversation with me that got me on a gentle track to a healthier weight. Although my numbers were always good at the doctor (BP, cholesterol, etc) I have been tired and sluggish consistently for a while.
The mantra that is helping me bypass the junk food and high calories is "London". I have a trip planned for the Autumn and I want to take the town by storm (or at least by pleasant breeze!). Looking forward to flirting, wearing sleeveless blouses/dresses and skirts without some undergarment to keep my thighs from touching.
In about 5 weeks I am down 7 pounds. This has been done entirely through calorie conscientiousness and swapping out simple carbs for more complex carbs. Time to add in some light exercise at least every other day-ish. I don't expect to be at my mid-twenties shape by London, but maybe my early 30s look. Come Christmas, I look forward to seeing my Mom's face. I'm not mentioning anything to her as I really want to get that great affirmation all at once without the weekly request/pressure for updates.
London. LONDON. LONDON!!!!
