Fatcheerleader's Journal, 09 February 2012

Wow. New rule. Eat before gym. After my second day of workout induced vomiting, I googled. Me thinks my electrolytes are low. I had to have help up the stairs when I got home. After which I found a gloriously comfy spot on some damp towels in the bathroom floor. No Bueno. After a recovery nap, I ate. Oh guess what, I feel better. Okay, I get it. Eat first. I hear you Tony Horton. Recovery drink. This was never a problem before when I was doing wiener workouts, but now that I have to push harder to break through a plateau, I'm remembering those days of getting sick during Tang Soo Do and volleyball workouts. Lesson learned. I'm also in a tricky spot of wanting to do more, but having to find that fine line of listening to my body so I don't overdo it and UNdo it. Recovery and rest are imperative. I hear ya. (that's why I love FS...I've been reading articles my buddies post. wink wink)

Anyway, all the vomiting aside...I did break a threshold this morning. Have I ever told you this monkey is NOT A RUNNER? I mean for reals not a runner. Not a jogger, not a skipper, not a dance your way to the finish kind of girl. I was built for comfort not for speed. Seriously, when the zombies come, get in MY group. You will NOT be the slow one. I PROMISE. Even if you are the granny monkey with a walker. Okay, that being said, I finally beat my mile time today on the elliptical. :o) I did two TEN minute miles. I shaved FOUR minutes off my two mile time. (shut up seasoned runners) This is an accomplishment for ME. MY personal best. I would like to thank my husband for pissing me off, er..I mean motivating me this morning at 0500 and the band Kittie for providing the soundtrack...Mouthful of Poison (on loop) (yes, scary bad nasty) and Kanye West (very bad attitude/don't agree with his politics, but good cool down song) Stronger. And also, my husband again for helping me back upstairs when we got home, and then waking me up off the bathroom floor when he got done with his hard boiled eggs. LOL. That that that which don't kill me...can only make me stronger.
