Just Wow, I started Atkins on Jan 9th. Thought I was doing good. No cravings but did eat alot of the Atkins Bars. Today is Feb 8th and have only lost 6lbs. Think I need to cut out the Bars. Prob all artificial sugar too. It's hard on days that I work. 12 hours and maybe a break. So much free junk food at work within arms reach at all times. That was why I had the bars handy with me.

You may be right about the bars. Some have nuts and most all have artificial sweetners; both can, if too many are consumed, slow down weight loss. But 6 lbs down is not bad, especially if you didn't have a bunch of water weight to lose. If most subtract the water weight, they're not likely to lose more than 1-2 lbs per week. That is a good rate. Better to have the bars than to give into junk food cravings. You might think of some other foods you can have on hand too. Eggs are great for snacks. So much protien they curb cravings. Try taking boiled eggs with you. Pork skins with or without a bit of low carb dip is good; I like mayo with mine (with the eggs too). For sweet cravings try the Atkins Shakes. I haven't tried them yet but the Flax meal muffins or MIMs with a bit of stevia sweetened butter might be a good at work snack. Just takes at home prep work. Best wishes for keeping up the great weight loss!

The bar's aren't that great for you but I wouldn't worry too much about them. They serve as a temporary/transitional purpose for many of us. As we try and figure out our new way of eating we need something easy that satisfies our old habits while we build new ones. As time goes by you'll, hopefully, find yourself craving them less and less. I know the feeling of uncontrollable desire for the sugary free junk food that permeates the office! I thought those desires would be a life long challenge but I am constantly amazed at how I can now completely ignore an inviting bowl of chocolate no matter the time of day. Good luck on your journey!
