0700 So monkey wound up doing 2.5 miles this morning between steam soaks. Can't resist that elli I guess. Still have cardioX today, but feel a bit looser for it now. Yes, I am complaining about the soreness, but even still, I am proud to have it. It is my reminder that I am becoming stronger. Every spot I feel one of my muscles again reminds me that they are awakening and reforming. I just keep thinking Destroy, Build, Destroy. Yep. Busted. We watch nerd TV in the monkey house. ;-)
Also, why do more people not use the steam room? Is it not the cool thing to do? It feels like home to me. Every time I get in I say Thank you, Dear, Sweet Lord Baby JESUS in a Trench Coat! Do you people know how dry it is in Alaska? Sweat, Monkey, Sweat!

I finished CardioX Day2 of P90X (Lean) I feel like crap. I'm going shoe shopping. If I can manage a shower. I don't know if I can cram my fat meathooks in shoes at all, really. My quads feel like they are made of quikcrete right now. Not chiseled from marble like the gods on the packaging of the DVD's at all. Just a square hardened sack of Portland Cement that fell out of the back of some dude's truck at the Homer Depot. But hey, Kiss my big ole butt, I finished! Ha! Eat Bananaas!!!!!!!!!!!

Great job! Get er done! That's the main thing. What a shock that must be to go from a steam room to outside in Alaska! Whoooeee!

Holey Moley! I guess you don't want to hear about how nice it has been in the Midwest this winter. Whoops, I think I just let it slip. Anyway, I feel for you. That can be very depressing. Spend a lot of time in well lit areas, so you don't go insane. :D

I really hate steam rooms/saunas - it's just too hot and sticky in there, it makes me feel like I can't breathe!! I'm also not a HUGE fan of hot tubs, but you can definitely find me there when I've got some sore muscles that need some TLC. Outdoor hot tubs in the winter? LOVE THEM. P.S. You are my hero for doing P90X, I'm excited to follow your journey..

Erika, I'm glad you are here for the journey. It gives me some accountability. If I have to come here and tell other folks I just didn't do it, I'll feel like a butt. As for the steam, I am originally from the deep south. Think almost tropical weather. Alaska has no humidity and I feel like a fish out of water. I have my gills back in the steam room. LOVE LOVE LOVE ;-) I take in a full quart of ice water and finish it. Best time of day for me. I think of it like the 'spin cycle' for my muscles. I love my Yogi, and she helps us direct our breathing to 'wash' out impurities, too. Her yogalates is what prepared me best for P90X, though I am by no means claiming perfection. That is the beauty, though. I can do what I can do, and tomorrow I can do more than I did today. Even now my shoulder muscle hurts somewhere back there a bit, but I am proud of that. I'm like BAM! I HAVE A MUSCLE, B&%*/3S! I DIDN't get THAT SITTIN ON MY COUCH!
