Hello all. First day here. Can someone tell me what RDI means. is there a section that tells you about this diet and how many carbs and sugars for example that we should be consuning for good results?

@Rileys mom: Draglist is correct. People can vary on their recommended intake depending upon their diet choices. Some people are on the Ketogenic diet which is comprised of a high amount of fat and low carbs or Atkins, etc. I am personally slowly transitioning to Pescatarian/Vegetarian/Vegan with a high concentration of whole natural foods like nuts, berries, fruits and vegetables and limited refined carbs. I try to keep my calories under 1800 per day, but generally they fall in the 1000-1200 range. My macros look a lot different than anyone doing low-carb, high fat diets or even high protein diets. I have done the Dukkan diet previously and taken a stab or two at Atkins, but for me I generally feel better focusing on a plant-based diet with limited lean proteins.

Also---I just want to add. My RDI of 1800 per day is actually fairly high for a woman trying to lose weight. At the time I set my RDI, I was pregnant and then breastfeeding. I just weaned my baby a month ago when I decided to get back on track with my diet and exercising. So 1200-1500 is probably a lot more appropriate for someone like me as a max daily caloric intake.
