Day 3, Advocare 24 Day Challenge

Today was my first workday since I started the program. It went great - I wasn't even tempted to go to the vending machine!

I'm really surprised that I haven't missed pop yet. (I'm a Michigan native - it's pop to me, no matter what you soda people say.) ;) You could say that I had a serious addiction before. Mostly Diet Mt Dew, but occasionally I'd mix it up with a Coke Zero or Diet Dr Pepper. I used to drink at least 2-3 throughout the work day. However, so far, I haven't had anything but the Advocare Spark and plain old water. No pop, no coffee, no juice, no milk...and I haven't missed any of them. Crazy!

I need to start walking on my lunch break, but forgot my walking shoes today. Oops! That's OK - it was a little hectic today at work anyhow, so it probably worked out that I didn't take the break. Tomorrow though, it's on! Walking shoes and a pair of socks are already by the door for tomorrow morning. :)

The other thing that surprises me is that I haven't really missed junk food. I have always liked healthy food - I think my bad habits mostly stemmed from lack of preparation. Needing to grab a quick and convenient meal, because I didn't have a dinner plan. Needing to grab a snack from the vending machine, because I didn't plan ahead to have healthy snacks with me. I was my own worst enemy!

It has been relatively easy to eat healthy so far, by having my meals and snacks planned in advance. And, as a bonus, my kids are eating healthier, because I'm cooking healthier. (Next step on the agenda for them - packing lunches for school. They like to buy in the cafeteria. However, home packed lunches are healthier and less expensive.)

Feeling very optimistic.

Yay you! I gave up soda (no excuse for saying pop, I'm from Cleveland lol) except root beer. If it is ever available I don't think I will not drink it, luckily, it is never available.
