Herbie's Journal, 22 May 2007

Although I'm feeling good and following the diet closely, I've leveled off for the past two days. Not long enough to really call it a plateau, I think, but it makes me wonder if maybe I'm nearing the end of the easy-to-lose weight. Although I could technically be in Phase 2 as of today (3 weeks since I started), I really haven't added carbs back into my diet much at all. Am still pretty much eating phase 1 food. The only difference today was that I had one strawberry with breakfast (eggs, of course) and a very small serving of rice with my dinner. Seem like pretty minimal changes. I think I'll stick with this fairly restrictive version of phase 2 at least for a while and see how it goes.

I am trying to exercise more often so that I at least do *something* every day even if it's only 20 minute walk. Am still doing my big workouts two or three days a week, but supplementing it with what Teddy calls "exercise snacks" on my non-workout days.

You seem to be doing really well herbie. I would just stick with the diet as you say and be patient. Stick with it!

12 pounds in 18 days is phenomenal! Your body probably just has to get used to the new smaller weight before it's willing to give up any more. It sounds like you've got a well-balanced plan for food and exercise, and you're setting a great example for the rest of us!
