I'm fudging this data to make it appear more gradual. I just finished a 5-day water only (technically water, coffee, tea, and broth) fast so I lost a good deal more but I will likely bounce back up when I eat today. My brother and I decided we would do 1-week fasts every quarter after listening to a podcast interview of Dr. D'Agostino where he said if he had a family history of cancer he would fast 5-7 days 3-4 times a year because the mutated mitochondria in cancer cells might cause apoptosis in fasting ketosis. There is a mouthful. He admitted that it needed further clinical study but given our family history, we both decided it was no hardship for the potential benefit. The weight loss is an extra bonus in my case.
