I hate how hard this is. I hate that it seems so easy just to keep eating all that i want, and to watch what i eat is so incredibly difficult. Why is this??

For example, right now i want to go into the kitchen so badly and eat. I KNOW that it will make me go over my points for the day, i KNOW that i won't be down any weight in the morning if i go in there now, and i KNOW that i'll feel horrible if i do. However, the cold hard fact of it is that i know these things and yet there's a good chance that i'm going to do it anyway.

I just don't get it....

You just may be restricting your fat and calorie intake too much. For your body to feel satisfied you either need fatty foods or heavy foods. What you want is that full feeling that helps you say no. Here is a good link: http://bit.ly/BZ8dS You should at least get 25% of your calories from fat. Sounds bad, but you need it. Get your fat and filling foods and you should be fine. Moderate and don't push yourself to the edge where that binge eating wants to come out. I learned this the hard way, but it works for me. Maybe you can tell me if it works out for you. Good luck!

I felt so bad reading your journal entry, because it can feel like it's just our inability to have "willpower" that makes us want to eat when we feel we shouldn't NEED to eat. I agree with talent03; I think much of your "crave factor" might be attributed to your nutritional breakdowns. I looked through your diet journal and I'm guessing you're vegetarian or possibly vegan. Sometimes with a vegetarian diet it can be difficult to get enough fat AND protein, and with vegan it can be even more so as eggs & dairy leave the food larder. Your protein intake is really low. I have noticed with my own diet when I don't intake enough protein, the cravings and the need to eat become nearly impossible to control. Do you like legumes? Hummus? There are some amazing soups/stews that can be made either vegetarian or vegan but that incorporate whole grains & legumes as well as veggies that will fill you up as well as give you a boost in protein & healthy fats. I have done weight watchers for years, so know the point system pretty well (depending on what you're doing). I also used to be a personal chef for vegetarians and have some good recipes I'd be happy to share with you. Please let me know if you'd like some and I'll put them together for you. You might be surprised at the difference you feel if you make just a few adjustments in your meals.

maybe i don't have a tip about the things you should eat but i have the feeling you beat yourself up too much on being perfect in your diet.it's much more helpful to be your best friend, your biggest support and fan. nobody sticks to his/her diet every day, everyone has an imperfect day sometimes. but look at it and learn from it. for example, why did you eat over your points? emotional eating? or maybe you focus too much on food (that's what happened to me often, i was asking myself in anxiety if i can stick to my diet today or blow it)the answer is simple : it's always my decision, i'm the one who has the power to choose in every situation.so just think or say it out loud: i decide to stick to my diet. and i'm sure it will happen. oh and something else, go out for a walk when the craving is too much (and if you know that you would "accidently" buy a cake, trick yourself and "forget" your wallet or just go into the park or any places with a lot of nature-those are the best places to be anyways :)

Too true, NYresolution! Nice reminders that this health is intrinsically tied to emotions and sometimes we need to outsmart ourselves :)
