Weighed in this morning at 179; Yay finally under 180!

Weight loss since starting up again July 6th is 7.5 lbs in 33 days. My goal is 147. If I keep up this rate, 0.23 lbs per day, 1.59 lbs per week, the math says I would reach my goal weight by the end of this year. I am not ready to commit to this yet with all of the holidays between now and then. I am making some progress against my biggest challenge which is alcohol and evening/night binge eating, which is worse with alcohol but can occur all by its lonesome. With this battle and the holidays I am unlikely to reach the goal by the end of the year. But if I can lose at that rate except for 2 months of at least not gaining then pick the losing backup again, and add another month for a safety factor then by the end of March I should be there.

This is going to be hard. I've lost 19.5 lbs, and now have 32 more to go. I have to do this. At my current weight I am obese. At my goal weight I'll just be fat. I am lucky that I do not have diabetes...yet. Thinking of the negative effects if I don't change motivates me. So...let's go, and aim for under 170 by the end of Sept.

you can do this!

Sometimes you have to "trick" yourself into doing/not doing something -- one thing that might help with your late night snacking is to plan to eat something that requires you to just eat, not eat and use the computer at the same time. For example, something that requires a bowl and spoon, rather than something you can grab in one hand. Then decide if you want to surf the web or eat -- you may find that there are times the web is more enticing, and that's one snack you have skipped. HTH.
