I love growing a garden. I have to brag about my dinner for a bit. I ate all home grown produce this evening. Patty Pan Squash, Red Noodle Yard Long Beans, Blackberries and Strawberries. If the HOA allowed us to have chickens and pigs we would never go to the grocery store (exaggerating a bit, we still use items like toilet paper and whatnot).

I've been struggling with the huge amounts of food coming out of the garden and my WOE. We try to only grow foods that fit into our plan, but 250g of summer squash still have a good amount of NetCarbs. We also harvested about 130g of blackberries and 40g of strawberries this morning so hubby and I split the berries and had them with fresh whipped cream -Yum!- The best dessert ever. It's not a terribly huge amount of berries but as you probably know berries are on the high end of 'keto friendly'.

I figure a bit of homegrown veg is not going to throw off my plan completely. It saves us a great deal of money on produce and keeps everything seasonal and fresh. :) I love my garden.

I have a fully organic garden as well - love "shopping" for dinner in my garden! We have mass quantities of squash growing, tomatoes, dragon's tongue beans, red chinese beans (haven't come ripe yet and they're new to us), raspberries, strawberries and so much more. The garden is a great work out for me. I live on 5 acres and gather cow and horse manure from our pasture and compost it all. I use the Back to Eden method of gardening if you're familiar with it. Enjoy your garden goodies! Audrey

I eat from my garden all summer long! And ( surprise!! ) my weight always does better in the summer than in the winter.. and you have to trust me when I say.. its NOT because i get out and exercise more in the nice weather! Its because I am eating fresh and seasonal!! Of that, I am sure!!
