Oh pizza, how you seduced me last night with your cheesy saucy goodness. I ate seven pieces of you. But what you meant for evil, I have turned into something good. Today, I ran 9.52 miles. This is the farthest I've ever run. Thank you bad, bad pizza for fueling this achievement.

OK buddies, what's the moral of this story?

YUM! I am a waitress at a Pizza Hut AND we have a Pizza Buffet AND the boss allows us to graze...I deal with pizza temptation EVERYDAY! And yes, I could eat it everyday...but I don't! When I do, I enjoy it instead of scarfing it down and pretending like it never happened...

@lotusblossom2112 - your spinach pizza sounds great! You could even use a smidge of garlicky white sauce (like they use on chicken pizzas) between the spinach and the cheese. You got me thinkin'!

I can't afford the carbs that come with pizza, but crave the taste so much at times. So now I make a pizza without any crust. I just put herbed pizza sauce on a small plate top with slices of mozzerella and pepperoni, then sprinkle with onions & mushrooms & red pepper, dust with some grated parmesan, and zap in microwave. Voila! I don't miss the bread at all.

ya, bread is just an edible holder for all the good stuff! Once I'm off it I wonder why it was so seductive in the first place. Then I remember, it's because it is addictive!

High carbs , low fat diets are actually more sustainable and better for you when pertaining to long term weight lost. Your body is fueled by carbs, and your brain ruins on glucose. It's sad that we've been conditioned into thinking restrict, restrict, restrict and count calories while staying away from carbs. But if you have a diet full of fruits veggies, beans, brown rice, a bit of pasta and patatoes aka (whole foods) Your duvet intake will be massive, you will feel satisfied and filter longer, and be more energized all while losing weight and keeping it off.

Sorry for all the typos!

Beautiful Control - actually the brain is made of fat and runs best on healthy fats. Read a book called "Grain Brain" by neurologist Dr. Perlmutter. All the high carbs you refer to create insulin spikes and are not good for everyone. The book is fascinating and you would learn a new viewpoint.

beautiful control- "a bit of pasta and potatoes", there is no such thing for me! Have found it much easier to abstain than try to limit a portion of those foods....

It's inspiring to be around someone who has done the hard work you have. It reminds me that anything is achievable if we want it enough. You obviously wanted athleticism to play a prime roll in your life where many of us only dream about such a thing. Your humor transmits in your writing, which tells me how you are when it comes to pain. That sort of can do attitude can take you anywhere you want to go and it will. I hope you know that breaking through those hard levels of physical stress has made this member of FS want to do more! Yay go you! Thanks for eating pizza last night. :)

@trackin64 - I *could* do that if BF was not so garlic sensitive lol. I can eat it whole. Him...not so much...and yes @RkTkFx it really is...take seconds to prep and it's all greasy and gooey. I switched to reg pepperoni rather than turkey pepperoni (same with bacon too) to get my fat up since it's not high enough in contrast to protein - I think...anyway it's so good. I crave it all the time. Then again when I was 5 I used to ask my Mother for spinach. Raw. With salt. 5. LOL my son wont even be in the same room with a vegetable!!!

I'm a high carb low fat vegan. So I'm always going to have a slight bias. Especially when I've gotten such amazing long term results by switching to this lifestyle :) (physically, mentally) it's great!
