Finally stepping on the scale. Have had almost three weeks of guests, who, as I mentioned before arrive to Florida to relax and vacation and eat! The dynamic is that this is family that know that we would love to see them, but they really are coming for their vacations and have a place in the sun to stay. The tendency is for them to shower us with dinners out and lots of relaxing, which is not my regular routine. So we love having company. Another factor was that I have been packing and closing up my house for a month long RV trip. Yes, all this while hosting guests. I just want to show that I have been busy. Just like everyone usually is. I am not blaming my visitors. I am saying that the finesse of knowing how to navigate this regimen, while offering nightly cocktails and BBQ was a challenge. I have said before that the occasional meal out has been easy to manage. I did feel that if I did not offer cocktails in the evening and if I did not partake, I thought that I was sending an inhospitable vibe. Definitely have to think this out for the next time. The weather in the last two weeks has included three tornados and severe wind and rain. Quite atypical for Florida this time of year and not conducive to biking, walking, swimming. I did a day on my stationary bike and have been keeping up with the yoga. I have even been doing sessions at home, so doing a 'practice', as they say, every other day. So I weighed in and have maintained. Down another pound in that time, so glad that my conservative and conscientious eating was holding firm, although there was a lot of wasted alcohol calories. My husband and I are leaving for an RV trip, alone, and are looking forward to exploring new places on our bikes and getting back into our groove. I want to set a goal for myself to lose 6 pounds in the next three weeks. Maybe a stiff challenge, but I will be seeing an old girlfriend on February 21st. We will be celebrating our February birthdays and this has been some of my incentive for this regimen, I must confess. In addition, my sister, who lives in Australia has begun day 2 of her 'Mother of the bride slim down'. I messaged her, "Join the Club", since I also have this ulterior motive. My youngest daughter will be married this June. There are just so many reasons to eat healthy. I am feeling great and clear-minded, energetic and enjoying the journey.
