I had lots of fun today at the river with family. I planned ahead really well and made a huge thing of ice water (with cucumber slices in it - YUMMY); tasty healthy snacks (1 serving of cherries/blackberries and chopped walnuts; and hard-boiled eggs and mini bell peppers); for lunch I packed a salad with lots of veggies and a turkey wrap on a whole wheat tortilla with lots of veggies.

Ready for the bad news? UGH!!! As soon as we got to the river the water container got knocked onto the rocks and busted open, I lost almost all of it except about 2 cups.

Ready for more bad news? A half-hour into being at the river I go to grab my lunch and realized....I only brought my snacks and forgot my lunch! Lunch choices provided by other people: chips, cookies, tea with lots of sugar, full-fat hot dogs, and whole wheat flat bread.

I tried to be good...I passed on the chips, cookies, and tea. I thought okay I can have one serving of the bread and I'll just have to deal with the full-fat hot dogs. So I had one hot dog on the flat bread...then another one....then two more hot dogs without the flat bread...OMG!!!! I just couldn't stop myself!!!

I had already eaten the eggs by the time I realized I forgot my lunch or perhaps I could have made a sandwich out of that and snacked on the bell peppers the rest of the day. But it's over now...I had fun and only messed up a little.

The rest of the day I can choose healthy choices, and tomorrow is a new start!
