December 19th 2015 - Ate out today...the family wanted breakfast so we went to a local restaurant. It was after 12pm so i decided i would take th opportunity to get in some calories. I had a spring mix salad and ordered steamed broccoli. Funny how they brought out this tiny little dish with four sprigs of broccoli in it. I asked if it was possible to get more. Oh, yea i guess you are still hungry huh...the waitress returns with a bowl that was heaping with broccoli. Great! I ate it up.

The bill came and wouldn't you know: The broccoli cost $14 dollars (WTF?!) That steamed broccoli cost more than my husband and my daughters breakfast plates put together! In the future i will make sure not to make that mistake again!

Spent the day out shopping for this and that...by 5:30 we were still out, and this time hit a Longhorn Steakhouse (definitely a pattern with the husband and his want for steak around this time of year...) Anyway, of the various steakhouse meals i've ordered from in the last month, this one was the best. I got a giant bowl of salad minus the cheese and croutons; and the steamed broccoli was plentiful.(it was a good 8-10 ounces on the plate.) This time i ordered a sweet potato, sans the cinnamon sugar & butter- they steam their potatoes.
(Make sure you ask the waiter about food prep if you eat out, else you're chances of ingesting things you don't want to ingest increase greatly!)

I ate half of the sweet potato - worked out perfectly. I was satisfied and it was 6:30 pm so not too late.

December 20th 2015 -

I am happy to stay home today...of course i may have to venture out after looking in the fridge to find that the salad greens are almost gone. At 1 pm i had my pound of salad with cucumbers, green pepper, grape tomatoes, green & red cabbage,
mixed with a few ounces of a packaged 5 lettuce blend; a handful of pomegranates and homemade orange sesame dressing.

Cooked food was Collard green stew with cannellini beans, onion and garlic, seasoned with lemon and pepper. Good stuff!
