Pretty surprised at how much I have enjoyed the Wii Active so far. I'm doing the 30 Day Challenge, which makes me feel obligated to get on it every night and check the calendar and see if I'm supposed to do something for that night. It gives you "Rest" days, but on those days I usually just do an extra 20 minute workout on it. Today's a rest day and I think I'm going to go to the gym after work and give the Wii a rest. I like the fact, though, that on super busy days (like Wednesdays) I can come home and get in a good sweaty workout even if it's 9 pm. That's what time I've been doing it so that way the kids are in bed and I'm not hogging the TV/Wii while they'r running around awake lol. Some of the exercises on Active are VERY hard to do with my bad knee. Last night it told me to do "jumping lunges", which is starting in a lunge position, then jumping into a lunge with the other leg, and jumping back, etc. My knee ached for a loooooong time after that. I just keep telling myself that it hurts now, but it's going to feel better later when the weight is off of it. It already does a LOT better than it did. When we hiked 3 miles on Saturday it never hurt once. It used to hurt just from one lap around the track. I'm going to try to think of some good things to do in the gym today. I need a plan so I'm not just doing the same-old thing; the treadmill and ellyptical are my usual cardio and then mix it up with bike and/or weights. But I need to improve in my knowledge of weights and what to do and which muscles groups to target, etc. Any suggestions for a good website that could help me with that research?
Okay, that's all for now. Much love, peace, and strength! We can do this!
