Doodlehead's Journal, 26 November 2015

Take this Turkey Day! I am about to walk mile (joined the Walk a mile a day challenge through the holidays). I am snacking on healthy things and I am getting my mind set up to picture eating just small (normal) size portions of the potluck at my friends house. I will NOT be having wine as it weakens me to all the sugary things. So no, not while there will be sooo much food around me. This is my plan, and I hope by the end of the day I will be able to say I was successful. In the meantime, I am so thankful for my amazing husband, and wonderful loving funny friends that I will be spending the day with. I will try to focus on that enjoyment instead of consuming food "enjoyment" than I need.

I did it!! So proud of myself. Walked almost 2 miles, did not overeat, enjoyed in moderation. Had one glass of wine after we ate, and food was put away. I didn't even crush to peer pressure of several well-meaning friends, saying "GO AHEAD, HAVE MORE, IT'S THANKSGIVING!". Now I can really be thankful. I had a good meal but didnt' over do it. And I feel great.

You talked about joining a challlenge but haven't. I think a challenge is good for me because it takes commitment and recording my results. You can do it, take on a challenge.

Oh I did, Larry. Its called the "37 Days of Being Awesome" challenge here on FS. You have to walk a mile every day through the holidays. That's defininetly doable. I was doing it until. A couple of days ago. I will start back today. Thanks for the encouragemeny
