Putting a little pause on trying to gain weight, feels like any gains lately are pure squish. Still seeing progress in my workouts but not in my physique. Going back to a more comfortable calorie intake for a while which is somewhere around maintenance or maybe a slight deficit. If I drop a couple lbs of squish in the springtime that’s alright with me.

Bulking is hard mentally muscle gains are a slow process no matter what and you won't see the progress in the short term especially with a little extra fluffy stuff covering it up. Good luck with your training

@OTB yeah I suddenly started to see a lot of “progress” around my midsection 🙃 it is definitely going slow and at the moment feels like un-progress

I know you were definitly getting stronger form all the prs in heavy. Do you feel that you were progressing and recovering at a higher rate with the Increased calories? The mental hurdles are very real I struggled with that part a lot last year This year it didn't bother me because I knew dropping the weight was the easy part.

Yeah totally I’m still seeing workout progress. Actually in the last 6 months or so I feel like I learned a lot about what my workouts need to look like for muscle growth to happen. I just feel like I’m putting on fat a lot faster than muscle suddenly. I’m thinking about this a lot today and I wonder if the major factor is not getting as much sleep. For a while in January I was getting like 9-10 hours a night. But lately not as much. The other change is I started cardio again recently and I’ve generally been more active now that allergies are better and I’m not struggling to breathe all day. Feeling more energetic may be part of the reason I’m not sleeping so much, though. And I don’t really want to feel sluggish and exhausted again. Soo.. idk, Im just not sure what’s going on 🤔
