pkgardner's Journal, 12 August 2011

It's been 10 days since I started here. Last night I made a pie as a treat for myself and my family since we've been eating lighter lately. I intended to only have the one piece after dinner, but I gave into temptation and right before I went to bed, I snuck another half piece. It wasn't much, BUT I hate that I wasn't strong enough to resist AND it sat on my stomach all night giving me a sick stomach. Blah. I don't want to go back to those bad habits. So I'm journaling about it now so that I can remember down the road how it made me feel.

Hi PK...don't beat yourself up. You've apparently learned some good habits since you felt sick of your stomach after eating it. If I were in your situation, I would have at another piece too! I'm a sweet-aholic. I can't even have that great stuff in eyes sight because I do not have any will power. I love it...especially cookies. I refuse to bake or buy anything like that because I will eat it. No doubt about it. You are doing great! Keep up the good work! Mary Rose (AKA Janetmarie)

I had the same thing happen to me last night. I went tot he store and was a little despondent because my family got cookies and I got yogurt. I ate my yogurt but was still upset because I wanted something with more of a chocolate taste so I ate one of the cookies. It was the fudge covered oreo's... it was so sweet and I don't think I will eat another one of those. It's amazing how your stomach and taste buds respond after hating better. But like Janet said, don't beat yourself up too much. This whole thing is like a science experiment and you did learn something so it had a positive outcome.
