Smooth's Journal, 11 September 2009

Well, another week down and more pounds lost! The difficulty in having weighed so much had been the length of time it takes to get rid of all this excess weight. From this vantage point, 25 pounds seems easy! My goal is to continue with the courage of doing the right thing, ignoring the comments of "My God, how much weight have you lost!, and recalling again and again the reason why I began this weight loss journey in the first place.

I'm rereading a great book, "The End of Over Eating" which I believe is a must read for those of us going through this battle of the bulge. For those who do not like to read, you can get it as an audio track through Amazon.com. The book proves scientifically that being overweight is not all our fault, but rather that we have all been targeted by the food industry to become "addicted to food." It may seem like an excuse, but after reading it, I'm convinced. It has helped with joy in this journey.
