Jour 4 du Tour:

Today was a tough cookie, but since i cycled too much yesterday, and i had to cycle a little bit to the stores i could subtract an hour today... Still was F-ing hard so all respect to the tour renners...

Not looking forward to tomorrow, have to do the spinning bike indoors again since the weather is going to be rainy... was hoping to take another run outside... maybe thursday.

I love the enthusiasm and go for it while you feel it, but unlike professional cyclists you don’t have 25,000 training miles already in your legs so when the body needs a rest day you should take it. If your legs muscles are sore to the touch take a rest. I would suggest easy day, hard day, hard day, easy day, rest day... repeat.. IMHO :)

Good luck with your bicycling tour, Maud. I know you love to do it outdoors, but indoor cycling is good, too. :)

jparlet: I think i have about 4000 km in my legs... my legs feel great; it is just my butt that is giving me a hard time since i had been switching saddles about three weeks back... thanks for your concern, and i know you are just scared i will be setting a wrong example for the newbees on here that dont know i have been training like a pro for three hours six months straight... diet is 80% food and 20% training...

thinking about that, i have been doing about 10 times a 100km run, with the build up before that (2x80 + 2x60 + 10x50) and a have been cycling for at least six hours a week on my spinning bike (say i cycle 25 km/h that is another 150km times 24 weeks) dont forget the many many hours i spend cycling to and fro stores/school/city/horse and the many times i cycle with friends that i dont count to my training scedule.... maybe the extemate of 4000km is a bit on the low side... (*lol*)

You are rocking it! Buy some good quality chamois padded shorts if you don't already have some. I wear two pair. (TMI?) I recommend no gel padding if you are going to be riding longer than 30-60 min.
