I graduated with my BS Mechanical Engineering from Missouri S&T on May 16, 2010. That day was one of the proudest of my life--save for one thing: My weight. The day I walked into that school I weighed around 230; when I graduated, I was 345. A good deal of that was muscle but I was carrying way more fat than was necessary.

Since that time, I've steadily lost weight through better eating habits, lack of stress, and increased activity. I attend gym 3-4 times a week and will lift weights, Stairmaster or elliptical, row machine, and/or swim. In just over a year I've lost 50 lbs, I'm down to 295 as of July 2011 and striving toward my goal weight of 210.

My twin primary goals are continued weight loss and to develop an understanding of my body. Secondary goals include an increase in overall body strength and a large increase in my cardiovascular endurance. Each of these secondary goals will help me achieve continued weight loss, so as appropriate, I may concentrate on each of these in turn in order to accelerate my weight loss.
