With all the options I had for things to do on Saturday, I ended up doing none of them. On the spur of the moment late that morning, I decided to drive about an hour south of Greenville to the historic town of Newberry, SC. I visited a huge, old hardware store that had been featured on an episode of "American Pickers" and walked around the downtown area taking photos of the wonderful old architecture. I was able to use my walker for most of it, but I totally wore myself out pushing it up and downhill, on brick streets, and so on.

Heading back, instead of going back to the main highway I'd come down on, I took a more local, rural road and stopped in three other towns along the way. Ended up turning on an unfamiliar road and had quite a lovely drive through the country, eventually finding my way back to the main highway mostly by instinct and intuition. Shot over 200 photos and had a GREAT time!

Although I was totally done in when I got home and almost fell asleep before dinner, I felt pretty good yesterday and was very surprised. Spent the afternoon and evening doing some things around the house and taking advantage of my relative lack of pain.

Today I'm feeling even better! I think I may go check out the rose garden at Furman University, which would require a walk from the parking area. Also want to continue to do things around the house and go grocery shopping.

I think part of my good feeling is the Vitamin B-12 shots I started getting. Part is due to the warmer, drier weather. And part is that I'm forcing myself to move more every day.

My diet is still in need of help, and I have yet to start measuring and weighing portions and so on, but I'll get there. I'm just excited to be feeling more like a normal person with a zest for living again!
