CatHerder's Journal, 21 April 2015

It's going to be a nice day here, finally. Actually yesterday was nice after the AM thunderstorms.

Sunday I worked with the trainer. All bodyweight with his usual circuit of dumbbell planks, roll outs with a twist and ab twists. He also threw in medicine ball push ups, side plank bicep curls, plank triceps extensions and some odd thing of walking on all fours while slinging this rubber coated plastic tube forward as I moved. I was exhausted after my hour with him.

Yesterday I battled my hill again. This time with sprints uphill and a steady jog downhill. I would run for about 200 yds at full out up a section and then jog back down to my starting point. I did that for 10 intervals and it was also tough. I'm trying to turn that mountain into a molehill.

Tonight I'm having the trainer show me running tips and have a running workout. I have also signed up for a 5K race in a week and a half. Not a lot of prep time but I should be able to run 3.1 miles even if I'll be slower that a turtle running through peanut butter.

To all the people on their journey here on FS, have a great day and may you meet all your goals and aspirations for the day.

Sounds like you're working hard on fitness, that's great. Running/jogging is something I'd like to get back to, used to do a fair amount of it years ago. I've started working it in a little but back injuries have made it a slow process, if I do too much I pay for it for a while. Good luck with the 5K.

Working hard! You shouldn't have any problems with that 5K.
