It helps me as well. I weigh daily. The main thing is to not get too worked up over the fluctuation. I can gain 3 lbs throughout the same day... or even lose 3 lbs. It keeps me on track as well. I am scared to see what would happen if i went a week. I can also track the small changes. My scale shows the tenths so i can tell if i lose half a pound and for me any little bit is incentive to keep going. its about what works best for you
