Well after two weeks with no weight loss, this last week I lost 2 pounds. Great! I kept it at 25 bc's and I averaged about 1516 calories per day for the week. I wanted to make sure this wasn't a stall and that I wasn't going to gain before moving forward in the OWL Phase II food ladder.

So I'm going to now add in the nuts/seeds ladder, very slowly. I'm going to start with almonds, raw only. The book says not to eat more than 1-2 ounces in one sitting, so I will start with 1 ounce. I'm going to do as the book says and buy some raw almonds and put them into 1 ounce portions in individual 'snack' baggies and then into a freezer baggie and put them in my freezer. Then when I want to have a serving of nuts I will pull a little baggie out of the freezer. This way I am never tempted by a nut 'container.' I am NOT going to add in salted nuts as I know from past experiences that they are a huge trigger for me. I'm only going to add raw almonds this week and nothing else new. And I am going to stay at 25 net carbs for now as all seems well with that for ongoing weight loss (OWL).

It says in the NANY book that peanuts and cashews are not real nuts. So do we not add the peanuts/peanut butter and cashews/cashew butter ever back in? What have others done with these two?

I have my surgery this coming Wednesday. So that day will be odd. I have to fast for 8 hours before the surgery which means from 5am on I won't be able to eat anything. I'm curious if I should have a big meal at 4 am, or just a normal breakfast. Has anyone had any experience with fasting before a surgery?

And if anyone has tips on how they added the nuts/seed rung I'd love to hear your experience/strength/hope.
