One pretty important thing I haven't mentioned yet:

I'm going to be moving in a month or so, therefore I'm making a conscious effort to eat everything that has been in my cupboards so I don't have to throw away food when moving time comes.

I still let myself buy fruit and milk, but that's about it. You'd be surprised by all the rice and soups that get forgotten about over time... plus I bought way more flour than I should've in the past months, so I'll have to cook up some fresh bread soon!

It's tough when you live by yourself, your significant other is far away, and friends don't visit often (working/distance). Take, for example, cooking a box of rice or pasta salad. I'm the only one to eat that pasta salad! If I part it out into portions after I'm done cooking, it's not so bad, but there's a lot of guilt for me when food goes bad before I've gotten to it just because there's only 1 of me and a suggested 6 or so people to finish all the servings!

I'll get by.
