Sandy701's Journal, 25 May 2011

Another wet blanket day, even worse than yesterday. Gosh, I forgot how uncomfortable walking in the summertime can be. You know, when you look at your arms and every pore is pouring out sweat in a vain hope that it will evaporate and cool you off. Well, it ain't happenin'...

Doggies went along for a bit, but then got dropped off at home so they could enjoy the nice a/c while I finished up the 3.3 mile sweat-a-thon.

I'm cautiously optimistic that the pool's heat pump is on its way to being fixed. Hope to have it up and running again by the middle of next week. It's been unbelievably difficult to get this done and so I don't want to celebrate just yet.....but it IS hopeful!

Peanuts got the best of me yesterday. I altered my dinner a bit so I could accomodate the over-indulgence the best I could. I want to keep them around but, I tell you, they're addictive!

Well, off to have a belated breakfast before my volunteer shift at the thrift shop. Everyone have a good day (with NO STORMS!!).

Thanks for the wishes, but it's POURING here in Wis now! At least no tornados! Good luck on the heat pump!

Sandy, I do know that feeling and that is why in the summer, I don't walk until about an hour before sunset, as that provides some shade to my walking area. We are due for more horrific storms this evening, but I am really hoping that it doesn't happen. They just issued a tornado watch for us until late tonight, and the sun just came out, so that means lots of rapid warming...not a good thing in this unstable atmosphere. Hope you enjoy your volunteer day at the thrift shop. What an awesome thing to do! You are truly wonderful! Hugs!

Hope you work out the heat pump, though it should be called a cooling pump in the summer lol. Peanuts can be adicting. Especially the salted ones.

Sandy - I know what you mean - it was 87 here at noon so I took my lunch walk inside of Wal-Mart. I feel funny returning to work with sweat dripping off my nose.

BuffyBear....True...most places frown upon drippy employees! LOL! BTW, I just bought and sampled some Blue Diamond Crunchy Almond Butter and I definitely like it at least as well as the natural peanut butter...3NC in 2 tablespoons...and I think it has less sugar (2g) than the natural PB, although I'll have to check on that.

GG-Girl...you should be due for some excellent weather. Summer in WI can be fantastic!

Stef, hope your luck holds to not get any severe storms. I wish I could wait until dusk to walk, but I'm afraid my "want to" would fade like the sun going down! Although I'm NOT a morning person by any stretch of the imagination, I don't do very well sticking to a late day exercise program. Hope you have a quiet evening!!!

Melissa, believe it or not, there are heat pumps for pools that are combination heaters/chillers and will cool off overheated water - esp. useful for places like Phoenix and the like where the sun and heat are both intense and can raise pool temps to temps more akin to a hot tub!!

If we ever get to summer that is! It has been such a cool spring, that we will probably go direct to 90 degrees with 100% humidity!

Hey Sandy, I know you have to be chomping at the bit to get that pool warm enough to swim in. I would love to have a pool..Catch you later and hope your evening is going well........Bren

Bren, the pool temp made it to about 81 this afternoon. DH actually went in yesterday and after cautiously splashing himself in waist-deep water, took the full diving plunge. Didn't stay in too long, though....LOL! If I get hot enough, I MIGHT try to go in at about 82. We've got a few more days of 80's air temps and it's not getting too cool at night either. Those are the ideal conditions, along with sun, of course, that will heat the pool naturally. My ideal temp for the water is 87-89!!! I'm such a wimp....

No your not. I have to have the out side temp to be at least 75 to 80 for me not to wear a jacket. I freeze all the time. I have had my thyroid checked. My husband says I have pee for blood... Hahahaha Everyone else loves AC I hate it as they have it set at 72. So I have to wear jackets year round in the house.
