BluEyz's Journal, 17 May 2011

I feel like I've reached a plateau. Before I started keeping track online I weighed 210, I'm now down to 198 and I feel good about it... but I'm still doing all of the same things and still watching what I eat. I've been going to the gym at least three times a week after work, but sometimes it's hard to make it more than that. I feel like my motivation is fading.

What kind of exercises are you doing at the gym? I've heard that just straight jogging for long periods of time starts to fade in effectiveness, over time. The body becomes used to the same activity, and learns to optimize, I guess. -----Also, Motivation can fade, if you don't have support! Also, if you think in negative terms about how you're depriving yourself of the things you like in food, things aren't going to end up well. Having a negative outlook on anything, will slowly eat away at your motivation/happiness. Instead of thinking about how "I can't have that", you can say "I could have that, but would it be worth it? I'd have to eat a much smaller portion of it, compared to something healthier I could make, that might be just as tasty..". That's how I look at it. Keep up the good progress you're making, BluEyz. You'll be at where you want soon enough!

I generally do most of the same things at the gym, but I've been trying to push myself and do a little more. It just makes it difficult right now because I'm going to a 'gym room' that is located inside my place of work. There's a very limited number of machines, and most of them are usually in use when I get in. As far as the food thing goes, if I want something that badly I've started having it, but in very strict moderation. It's not worth it... I definitely don't want to gain back the progress that I've made so far! Thank you for the support :) I think the progress that I've made so far is enough of a motivational lifter to keep me going!
