Going to be making a 2.5-mile trek today (one way) in sub-freezing temperatures. Now normally, I wouldn't mind that, but when it's a wind chill of 14 degrees F, and it's snowing...that's intense!
I signed up to donate blood, which explains the long walk. (Yes, I do have access to a car, but being a Southern girl, I have no experience driving in snow, so I figured it would be safer on foot.) However, it might be a fruitless endeavor. My diet is mostly vegetarian, and sometimes my iron levels fall just below the cut-off. Not to mention that I have to be careful about dehydration--that can make your blood pressure to low.
Wish me luck!
